The year is now 2025. We are officially closer to 2050 than we are to 2000. For those of a certain age and versed in climate change literature, this is a terrifying reality. Here’s a few reasons why; by 2050….
Droughts are expected to affect the drinking water availability of 3 in 4 people
Global waste production is expected to grow by 70%
Crop yields are projected to decline by 20%
Ocean temperatures are likely to be too warm to support coral reefs
The climate crisis could cause $12.5 in annual economic losses
I could drone on about the laundry list of disastrous climate impacts we are facing, but that is not why I’m writing this blog post, nor why the company I founded does the work we do. I am motivated by all that is left to save, and by the potentials and possibilities for climate action to realize a safe, just, and sustainable future for humans and ecosystems alike.
Therefore, I’m choosing to focus on what is possible, with tools such as:
A roadmap for the global energy sector to achieve net zero by 2050
Rehabilitation and recovery strategies to restore ocean health by 2050
A science-based strategy to accelerate climate solutions along with almost 2000 ready to scale, efficient solutions
Climate change is urgent, but it is not hopeless. Climate Tech Propel (CTP) partners with climate technology providers with the potential for impact to help them scale their solutions to mitigate climate change. Our work is embedded in a global movement of public, private, corporate, nongovernmental, and academic professionals bringing about a sustainable future. CTP will be mobilizing stronger than ever in 2025 to keep our planet habitable for ourselves and generations to come. Follow us to stay tuned on our journey.
